Deepak Gandhi
Deepak Gandhi is an engineer during the daytime who passionately pursues music during his spare time. While studying for his master’s in electronic engineering in the former USSR, Deepak started singing and tried playing Guitar to negotiate his boredom. A chance tryst with the two methods of musical expression became the beginning of a long journey full of personal quest, accolades, and achievements.
After coming to Canada in 1990, Deepak picked up his Guitar and Keyboard and started regaling the audience all over Canada. Progressing from Guitar to keyboard allowed him more versatility in terms of sound and rhythm. He started playing with his band at local community events.
Deepak has been judging for several years now in Panorama Idol Events. Both of Deepak’s children, Mandeep Gandhi, and Jonita Gandhi are also musicians.
Our Mission
Soul Sargam’s mission is, through creating and maintaining musicians’ collectives, to give musicians across Canada and USA, the chance to experience the many facets of music in an environment that they feel safe, supported, and inspired.
Through developing year-long paths of events and activities we will provide young musicians with opportunities to express themselves through music on stage, in rehearsal rooms and in recording studios and to give them the chance to do this regardless of age, background or musical ability.
